Lucy

Hi, my name is
Lucy!

And kitchenmoms is my little corner of the internet!

I started kitchenmoms in the spring of 2017 while I was juggling a full‑time job as a pediatric nurse and a newborn at home. Between night shifts and diaper changes I began scribbling quick, kid‑friendly recipes on napkins. Those scribbles turned into a modest blog in August 2017, and the first post—“One‑Pot Mac & Cheese for Tiny Hands”—got 127 shares on Facebook that night. It felt like a secret handshake with other busy parents, and I kept writing.

Fast forward to today, kitchenmoms has grown into a community of more than 45,000 monthly visitors from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. I now publish three new recipes every week, host a quarterly “Mom’s Meal‑Prep Challenge,” and have partnered with the local food bank to donate 1,200 meals in 2023 alone. In March 2024 I launched the “KitchenMoms Cookbook,” a 120‑page collection that sold out its first print run of 2,000 copies within two weeks.

I live in the suburbs of Raleigh, North Carolina, with my husband Mark, our two kids (Emma, 5, and Jonah, 2), and a very opinionated golden retriever named Biscuit. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking the nearby trails, binge‑watching classic sitcoms, or perfecting my sourdough starter (it’s currently on day 34). My favorite kitchen tools are a heavy‑cast iron skillet, a Japanese mandoline, and a trusty wooden spoon that’s been with me since day one.

One quirky habit I’ve picked up over the years is naming every new recipe after a family member. “Emma’s Rainbow Veggie Pizza” and “Jonah’s Banana‑Oat Pancakes” have become staples on our dinner table, and they’re the first dishes I share on the site each month. If you ever feel overwhelmed by the chaos of feeding a growing family, know that I’m right there with you—just a click away, sharing what works for us and learning from you, too.
